Hospitality & Venue Technology

Connected technology for busy hospitality venues.

MiCiS brings together the technology behind pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafés and function venues. We cover internet, Wi-Fi, phones, staff devices, Microsoft 365, CCTV and access control.

We support individual venues and multi-site operators, coordinate with existing suppliers and plan changes around trading hours, service periods, events and opening dates.

Site requirements, equipment, responsibilities and support arrangements are agreed for each engagement.

Venue services

Support across the technology your venue depends on.

A venue is not just an office with guest Wi-Fi. We consider customer-facing services, staff systems and the physical site together, while keeping specialist supplier responsibilities clear.

01

Internet and resilience

Venue internet, firewalls, routers and switching, with suitable backup options where required. Review how a connectivity issue affects the nominated services rather than treating the circuit in isolation.

02

Guest and staff Wi-Fi

Plan coverage for the agreed indoor, outdoor and function areas. Separate guest access from operational services and staff systems, with access controls appropriate to each use.

03

POS and system connectivity

Troubleshoot agreed network paths and coordinate with point-of-sale, payment, booking and ordering providers. Specialist application support remains with the relevant provider unless included in scope.

04

IT and Microsoft 365

Support staff computers, supported mobile devices, email, accounts and collaboration. Bring device management, endpoint protection and backup arrangements into the agreed service model.

05

Phones and communications

Business phone systems, call routing, voicemail and communications across departments or venues. Supported integrations, voice assistance and automation can be scoped to the operating requirement.

06

CCTV, access and alarms

Plan and support electronic security systems and their network dependencies, including cameras, recording, authorised access, intercoms and alarms within the agreed scope.

07

Web and digital operations

Hosting, domains, DNS, certificates and website-email delivery, with coordination for supported online booking, enquiry and other venue platforms.

08

Projects and venue groups

Technology planning, installation, cutover, documentation and ongoing support for new openings, refurbishments and multi-site operations.

Services can be delivered independently or brought together under one engagement. Products, integrations, specialist work and support obligations are confirmed before work begins.

One venue, different needs

Guest access should not be the business network.

Guest browsing, staff work, payment services and security systems have different requirements. A considered venue network gives those uses appropriate access without treating every connected device as trusted.

We assess the equipment, service paths and provider requirements, then configure and test the agreed controls.

Designed around the venue. Network separation is one part of the overall security design; it is not, by itself, a certification or compliance guarantee.
Controlled access

Different services, clear boundaries

Venue-specific
01
Guest access

Guest Wi-Fi and agreed access limits, separated from nominated business resources.

02
Operational services

POS, payment and other essential service paths aligned with the relevant provider requirements.

03
Staff and management

Work devices, identity, email and approved access to business systems.

04
Site security

Authorised connectivity for cameras, recording, access control and other supported systems.

Conceptual separation model. The implemented architecture is assessed and agreed for each venue.

Working with your providers

A clearer support path when systems overlap.

An issue at the till, booking desk or office may involve the internet service, local network, device, application or a provider platform. We retain the technical context while coordinating the relevant next action.

01

MiCiS technology scope

Investigate and support the network, connectivity, devices and services included in your engagement. Record useful tests and identify the affected service path.

  • Agreed infrastructure and services
  • Fault evidence and escalation context
02

Specialist platform providers

POS applications, payment processing, booking services and proprietary platforms remain with their suppliers unless a specific supported responsibility is agreed.

  • Application and platform ownership
  • Provider-specific changes and approvals
03

Coordinated next action

Bring the relevant parties together with a clear description of the impact, findings and outstanding work, rather than making venue staff repeat the same fault history.

  • Documented responsibilities
  • A named next action and contact
We do not claim universal support for every POS, payment or booking platform. Compatibility, access, supported interfaces and provider involvement are checked during scoping.

Support around trading

Support that respects service time.

A venue’s critical periods do not always match ordinary office hours. MiCiS can agree coverage, escalation contacts and maintenance windows around the services that matter most to your operation.

Routine work can be planned around trading, while incidents are assessed according to their operational impact and the applicable support agreement.

After-hours and on-call assistance are agreement-specific. Where not included in contracted coverage, emergency work is subject to on-call availability and emergency rates.
Operational planning

Agree the important windows

Agreement-led
01
Before service

Plan maintenance, configuration changes and readiness checks around agreed access windows.

02
During trading

Assess incidents against the effect on venue operations and the applicable support arrangement.

03
For functions and events

Identify additional coverage, temporary connectivity or event-specific support before the occasion.

04
Across the venue group

Keep site contacts, equipment records, providers and escalation responsibilities current.

No blanket promise of immediate attendance, uninterrupted operation or a fixed resolution time is made.

Open, improve or expand

Technology planned around the venue lifecycle.

Bring connectivity, business systems and site technology into the project early, so installation, testing and handover are coordinated rather than left to separate suppliers at opening time.

01

New venue openings

Scope services, equipment locations, cabling, coverage, supplier handovers and testing around the opening programme. Confirm lead times and dependencies before treating a date as committed.

  • Connectivity and equipment planning
  • Commissioning and operating handover
02

Refurbishments and upgrades

Plan the transition from existing to new systems around access and trading constraints. Record affected services, agreed maintenance windows and the intended end state.

  • Staged changes and supplier coordination
  • Documentation of what changed
03

Multi-site venue groups

Bring consistency to supported connectivity, devices, communications and security while retaining each venue’s specific operating requirements.

  • Known site equipment and contacts
  • Shared standards with local context
Cabling, electrical and other specialist site work is coordinated with appropriately qualified providers where required. Scope, permissions and responsibilities are agreed for the project.

Events at your venue

A function can change what the network needs to do.

Outdoor activations, temporary service areas and larger functions can introduce connectivity needs beyond day-to-day trading.

MiCiS can assess extra coverage, devices, supplier requirements and support for the occasion—including Starlink or another connection where suitable.

Event overlay

Plan the temporary requirement

Event-specific
01
New operating areas

Function rooms, outdoor locations or vendor positions beyond the normal service area.

02
Additional connected devices

Nominated ticketing, payment, exhibitor, staff or guest-access requirements.

03
A defined event window

Setup, testing, support and restoration of the ordinary venue configuration.

Frequently asked questions

Questions before bringing venue technology together.

A useful venue support arrangement makes the scope, supplier responsibilities and operating windows easy to understand.

A scoped service, not a blanket promise. The agreed equipment, providers, support window and responsibilities determine what is included.
01Do you support pubs, clubs and restaurants?

Yes. The service can be scoped for pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafés, function venues and venue groups. We start with the services, operating hours, existing providers and technology issues that matter to the venue.

02Must we replace our existing POS or booking provider?

No. We can assess and support the underlying technology within scope and work with existing providers. Replacing a platform is not assumed; supported access and responsibilities must be confirmed.

03Is evening, weekend or 24/7 support included?

Not automatically. Coverage and escalation arrangements follow the signed support agreement. Event-specific or extended coverage can be agreed, and non-included emergency work is subject to on-call availability and emergency rates.

04Can guest Wi-Fi be separated from business systems?

Yes, where the equipment and design support it. We assess the venue, configure the agreed network boundaries and access controls, and test the intended service paths.

05Can one arrangement cover several venues?

Yes, a multi-site scope can be agreed. We document common standards and support processes while accounting for each venue’s circuits, equipment, applications, local contacts and operating windows.

06Can you help with our website, phones and online enquiries?

Yes. Relevant services include hosting, domains, DNS, certificates, website-email delivery and business telephony. Booking-platform changes, custom integrations or voice assistance are separately assessed for supported interfaces and scope.

07Can you help with a new opening or refurbishment?

Yes. MiCiS can scope technology planning, installation, configuration, cutover and handover. Site permissions, provider lead times and work by appropriately qualified trades are coordinated as required.

08What should we provide for a venue review?

Include the venue name and location, trading hours, existing providers, key systems, current issues, upcoming events or works, and whether the enquiry covers one site or several. Existing incidents should use Client Support.
